The book “Ritorno al futuro della città educante” by Fabrizio d’Aniello (professor of Macerata University, Italy) presents the results of a complex research carried out between 2018 and 2019 during two editions of the education festival "Scarabò. A city to educate ”, held in the historic center of Macerata (Italy). The research involved 227 people, adults and children, through targeted interviews. This research was motivated by the participation in the international project TRANS-URBAN-EU-CHINA, devoted to the "Transition towards urban sustainability through socially integrative cities in the EU and in China". The book focuses on one of the project topics: the role of education and educational networks in the promotion of social integration, as well as the effects of a community evolution capable of including and satisfying different needs for growth, maturation and personal fulfillment.
Perspectives on Urban Sustainability in Europe and China
The book Towards Socially Integrative Cities deals with the transition towards urban sustainability through socially integrative cities in Europe and China. It shares the impactful original research results of an EU-funded R&I project involving eight European and six Chinese partners. Three each of the six editors come from European and Chinese universities and research institutions.
